When using a (DHCP) dynamic IP address make sure the ‘ETHERNET’ setting is set to ‘DHCP/SUB/GATE’. Please follow these steps to set a dynamic IP address on your Ethernet printer:

Using the Control Panel:

  1. Depress both the MENU and CHOICES buttons while turning on the printer.  Keep both buttons depressed until "FACTORY MENU" appears in the LCD window or the display starts scrolling through different topics.
  2. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "ETHERNET?" topic and press the CHOICES button.
  3. The blinking cursor indicates the current setting selected. Every time you press the CHOICES button the setting option will change.
  4. Select "DHCP/SUB/GATE" for using a dynamic IP address. (Please skip the “DHCP Enabled” option in the menu).
  5. Press the TEST button to enter that setting.
  6. The display will show "EXIT AND SAVE?".  Press the TEST button a second time to save the changes.

Make sure you switch the printer on with the Ethernet cable connected. The printer will now try to get an IP address from the DCHP server within one minute after power on. If no address is given the printer will default to 10.0.0.192. The printer will not detect a disconnect/reconnect of the network cable.

The IP address can be found on the self-test ticket of the printer. This can be printed using the test button.
