This feature is normally disabled with the exception of ATM style printers which have it enabled as the factory default setting. When enabled, shuffle mode causes the printer to move the ticket stock forward in small increments once every 15 minutes until the ticket reaches a predetermined limit. Once the limit has been reached, the ticket is returned to its normal idle (top of form) position and the whole process is repeated. Because of this behavior an operator may see the ticket stock protruding from the printer if the printer has remained idle for an extended period of time. However, this is normal and will not effect positioning of text on a printed ticket; a ticket is always returned to its top of form position prior to printing.

Setting Shuffle Mode through the menu:

  1. Depress both the MENU and CHOICES buttons while turning on the printer.  Keep both buttons depressed unit "FACTORY MENU" appears in the LCD window or the display starts scrolling through different topics.

  2. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "SHUFFLE MODE?" topic.

  3. Using the CHOICES button select "YES" or "NO". Once you have done this press the TEST button.

  4. On "EXIT&SAVE?" press the TEST button again. The printer will reset at this time.

This setting can also be changed via a command through the interface:

ENABLE SHUFFLE MODE - <sfe>

Sending the <sfe> command once, enables shuffle mode. This command will be stored in flash and will remain in effect until an <sfd> command is sent.

DISABLE PARK TICKET MODE - <sfd>

Sending the <sfd> command once, enables shuffle mode. This command will be stored in flash and will remain in effect until an <sfe> command is sent.

Advanced Shuffle Mode

Printers with firmware level N152 or higher have an advanced shuffle mode feature that enables you to adjust the shuffle time shorter or longer than the above mentioned default 15 minute time.  This may be done by sending the below software command to the printer via our test and configuration program.

<sf#>

# is the minute value you want to set. The printer will reset after receipt of said command.

For example if I wanted the printer to shuffle every 8 minutes then I would send <sf8>.

The Shuffle mode and Advanced feature will not work for printers that are using the universal opto offset command (<ou#>)
