If your BOCA printer is equipped with the optional cutter you may use the list below to identify the model used in your printer.

Ghostwriter models

SC2 for Ghostwriter Mini models (S423727)

On the very old Ghostwriter models a cutter known as Silent Cutter (SC2) has been used. This cutter used a rotary cutter knife to cut the tickets.

Dual Mini

An Dual Mini has a one 8" wide cutter for both paths. (part number S421639-8)

BC cutters

Boca developed a new cutter which uses a guillotine style mechanism, the Boca Cutter (BC). This cutter has evolved over the years where major and minor changes were made due to production changes and customer requests.

BC1 & BC2 for Ghostwriter models

The BC1 replaced the much older Silent Cutter (SC2) and are not backwards compatible. The BC1 & BC2 were phased out in favor of the BC3 (S423552). The BC1 & BC2 had a different switch configuration and a 3-pin Molex connector going to the logic board in comparison to the BC3. The BC3 is fully compatible, a conversion cable 3-pin Molex to 4-pin Molex may be required.

BC3 for Ghostwriter printer models (S423552)

This is the latest model cutter made for the Ghostwriter Mini printers. The cutter uses switches to position the cutter knife. The side plates will fit onto the print cage of a Ghostwriter model.

Lemur models

BC3 for Lemur printer models with metal print cage (S423552-L)

This is the first model cutter made for the Lemur printers. The cutter uses switches to position the cutter knife, same as on the Ghostwriter. The side plates have been modified to fit onto the metal print cage of a Lemur model (built up to July 2013, serial# 289402).

BC3 for Lemur printer models with plastic print cage (S423552-LP)

This cutter uses switches to position the cutter knife, same as on the other BC3 cutters. The side plates have been modified to fit onto the plastic print cage of a Lemur model (built between July 2013, serial# 289402 and 30 Sept 2013, serial# 293464).

BC4 for Lemur printer models (S423980)

This is the first cutter that uses SQ optos to position the cutter knife. The DC harness has change to two AMP 4-pin connectors for the optos. The side plates fit onto the plastic print cage of a Lemur model (build between 30 sept. 2013, s/n 293464 and November 2014, around s/n 316729)

This cutter has the following changes.:

- The use of SQ optos instead of a micro switch.

- Uses a new DC harness that connects directly to the SQ optos.

- Requires the use of a A46 rev F or above.

This cutter is not interchangeable with printers that currently have the older model BC3 cutters that will still be available as a spares item.

An updated cutter knife was introduced August 2014. This version of the cutter knife will take the place of the current cutter knife that is used for SQ opto cutters only. It will be backwards compatible with existing SQ opto cutters.

BC5 for Lemur printer models (S424008)

This cutter also uses SQ optos to position the cutter knife. This is the first cutter to allow additional optos to be installed for detecting paper (CUT1 -CUT5). The cutter is supplied without side plates (build from November 2014, around s/n 316729)

BC5 for Lemur-C printer models (S424008-C)

This is a variation on the BC5 cutter for use in the Lemur-C printers. The cutter uses a narrower BC5 cutter knife (3.25” wide) and smaller stepper motor. This knife was phased in on the Lemur-C printers with serial number  around 321615.

BC5 for Lemur-M printer models (S424008-M)

This is a variation on the BC5 cutter for use in the Lemur-M printers. The cutter has a modified housing to fit into the Lemur-M printer setup. The BC5 cutter is starting to be used on all Lemur-M series printers that require a cutter starting 26-11-2014.

BC5 for Lemur UPG printer models (S424008-U)

This cutter uses SQ optos with JST connectors to position the cutter knife. The cutter is supplied without side plates (build from April 29th 2020, 451198 and higher)

This cutter has the following changes.:

- The use of SQ optos with 3-pin JST connectors instead of SQ optos with 4-pin AMP connectors

- Uses a new DC harness that using the JST connectors.

- Requires the use of a Logic board BJ46 using the JST connectors

BC5 for Lemur-C printer models (S424008-LC-U)

This is a variation on the BC5 cutter for use in the Lemur-C printers. The cutter uses a narrower BC5 cutter knife (3.25” wide) and smaller stepper motor The cutter is supplied without side plates (build from April 29th 2020, 447356 and higher)

This cutter has the following changes.:

- The use of SQ optos with 3-pin JST connectors instead of SQ optos with 4-pin AMP connectors

- Uses a new DC harness that using the JST connectors.

- Requires the use of a Logic board CJ46 using the JST connectors
