Due to a variety of legacy issues and driver limitations, an adjustable FGL printer operating in portrait mode requires a reversed orientation <rte> in order to properly format the ticket. Reverse will rotate the ticket portrait mode layout 180 degrees. This will only work for portrait layouts in conjunction with the Boca printer driver. It is intended to make the Boca printer driver compatible with the HP LaserJet IIP printer driver. Please note the manner in which the printer formats the ticket in the various scenarios shown below.
Setting the printer to reverse orientation does not affect the print out when either a Landscape layout or a regular FGL commands layout is being send.
The setting can be changed via the interface using the following commands:
<rte> | Reverse orientation |
<rtd> | Normal orientation (factory default) |
On those printers with a control panel and display installed the setting can also be changed through the menu.
To access and use the OPERATOR MENU, follow these steps:
- Ticket stock should be loaded into the printer. The LCD window displays FGL-46N# - SB# (# - number value depends on revision level; N# represents the software series level; B# is the font)
- Press both MENU and CHOICES switches simultaneously for about 3 seconds. The LCD window displays "FACTORY MENU".
WARNING: Improper use of the factory menu may disable your printer. - Use the MENU button to scroll to "ORIENTATION?"
- Use CHOICES to go to either "NORMAL" or "REVERSE" depending on the setting you need.
- Press TEST to select the shown setting.
- The printer will display "SAVING CHANGES" and restart.
