During shipment of your printer there is a possibility that the guillotine cutter knife became trapped under the stationary cutter blade. This will cause the printer to go into a “Cutter Failure” error. Please follow the enclosed steps to correct this problem.


The following must be done with the printer powered off and unplugged from the AC Source. 

  1. Make sure power is off and the AC cord is disconnected from the printer.
  2. You will need to take the locking side access cover off the printer so you have easy access to the inside of the printer.
  3. Using a pen or pencil gently push the guillotine blade toward the front of the printer to un-trap it from under the stationary cutter blade. (See photo below)
  4. Plug the AC cord back into the printer and see if it powers up properly?
