When using a (fixed) static IP address make sure the ‘ETHERNET’ setting is set to ‘YES’. Please follow these steps to set a static IP address on your Ethernet printer.


Using the Control Panel:

  1. Depress both the MENU and CHOICES buttons while turning on the printer.  Keep both buttons depressed until "FACTORY MENU" appears in the LCD window or the display starts scrolling through different topics.
  2. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "ETHERNET?" topic and press the CHOICES button.
  3. The blinking cursor indicates the current setting selected. Every time you press the CHOICES button the setting option will change.
  4. Select "YES" for using a fixed IP address.
  5. Press the TEST button to enter that setting.
  6. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "IP ADDRESS?" topic and press the CHOICES button.
  7. The blinking cursor indicates the current IP numeric value selected. Every time you press the CHOICES button the numeric value will change.
  8. Using the TEST button will move you over to the next numeric value.
  9.  Continue steps 7 & 8 to program the desired IP address value.
  10. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "SUBNET MASK?" topic and press the CHOICES button.
  11. Each time you press the CHOICES button a different mask value will be displayed.
  12. Once you have the mask value you want, press the TEST button.
  13. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "DEFAULT GATEWAY?" topic and press the CHOICES button.
  14. The blinking cursor indicates the current IP numeric value selected. Every time you press the CHOICES button the numeric value will change.
  15. Using the TEST button will move you over to the next numeric value.
  16. Continue steps 14 & 15 to program the desired Default Gateway address value.
  17. Using the MENU button scroll down to the "DNS SERVER?" topic and press the CHOICES button.
  18. The blinking cursor indicates the current IP numeric value selected. Every time you press the CHOICES button the numeric value will change.
  19. Using the TEST button will move you over to the next numeric value.
  20. Continue steps 18 & 19 to program the desired DNS SERVER address value.
  21. The display will show "EXIT AND SAVE?". Press the TEST button a second time to save the changes.
  22. The printer should now restart. The IP address, Subnet Mask and Gateway address should now be visible on the self-test ticket.



Using the Configuration & Test program:

  1. Connect to your printer using any interface.
  2. Make sure you can print a FGL Test ticket.
  3. Select the “Enable Ethernet” from the “Printer Configuration” box
  4. Now select “Static Mode”
  5. Enter the gateway address
  6. Select a Subnet Mask
  7. Enter the IP address
  8. Press OK
  9. The printer should now restart. The IP address, Subnet Mask and Gateway address should now be visible on the self-test ticket.


Using the Web interface:

  1. Set ETHERNET to YES (for static).
  2. Enter the IP ADDRESS, use 12 digits. For example 010.000.000.023
  3. Select the SUBNET MASK
  4. Enter the DEFAULT GATEWAY, use 12 digits. For example 010.000.000.254
  5. Enter the DNS SERVER, use 12 digits. For example 010.000.000.001
  6. Press Save changes
