A few settings are required to let the printer, send an email when an event (power-on, paper jam, cutter jam, paper out or tickets low) occurs.
- The printer must be connected via the Ethernet port to the network (with connection to the mail server/internet)
- The printer’s default web interface must set to real time status
- The email page of the web interface must be setup

Important note: To log on to a printer using the FGL26R## or FGL46## firmware, please see this article: Default password on printers running R version firmware
Login to the web page by browsing to the IP address of the printer.
Just press submit (or enter a new password) | Enter current password and press submit |
For security reasons it is recommended to use a password when setting up the email page.
Note: When the password is forgotten or lost, the printer can only be reset to the factory defaults to allow access to the webpage to enter a new password.
Once logged in the default web page will open.
If the printer’s configuration page opens, the default webpage must be changed to REALTIME
Save the changes before continuing and refresh the web page
Now the default web page will open with the real time status web page. This page can be accessed even when the printer is in a error state. The indicators in the top left will show the current printer state. The refresh rate can be adjusted on the “configure printer” page.
Open the Configure Email page to setup the email settings
Enter the SMTP details
- If you have an inhouse email server which allows you to use unsecured email to be send via SMTP you can use the SMTP address and port enter of your email server.
- If secured email is required to send email, please tick the box “Use Secure Email Settings” and let the printer enter the preset details of the SMTP setup.
Notes:
Currently we cannot change the secured email settings
FGL26N137/FGL46N137 or newer firmware is required for the secure email option.
Enter the “email to” address for the receiver of the email and an “email from” address.
Enter a message that will be in the body of the email, this could for example be the location of the printer. Note: The error will be shown in the subject of the email along with the serial number and IP address
Tick the box(es) for the event(s) you like to receive an email for. (in our sample paper out and tickets low)
Save the changes. The printer will restart.
You can now refresh the page.
Sample using the tickets low sensor attached to the printer.
The printer can be equipped with a low paper sensor to detect the ticket stack/roll from running low. When the sensor detects no more paper it will trigger the printer to go into the low paper state. This will send a low paper status via the interface and send out the email (if configured).
In our sample the printer shows the normal state.
Now we print until we have 151 tickets remaining, the tickets low is not triggered.

The following email was sent.
In the subject you can find the event that caused the email to be send (Tickets Low) the serial number and IP address. In the body you can find your message.
To reset the Tickets Low condition, we need to:
- Remove the remaining tickets.
- Load a new stack of tickets.
The ticket low will be back to No.
